Dr. Dennis Makau is an epidemiologist and applied data scientist advancing anticipatory epidemiology in interconnected human, animal, and environmental systems. His work integrates epidemiologic modeling, genomics, and data science to move from reactive response to proactive risk detection. He develops approaches that transform complex data into actionable intelligence for disease prevention, biosecurity, and resilient health systems.
Research Interests: Disease epidemiology and transmission dynamics; anticipatory epidemiology and early warning systems; integrated surveillance and biosecurity analytics; genomic epidemiology and phylodynamics; disease forecasting and risk modeling; One Health and population health systems.
