Dr. Makau is an epidemiologist with expertise in Veterinary Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Data science. He conducts research at the intersection of public health and veterinary sciences, employing statistical modeling, machine learning, and phylodynamic techniques to study infectious disease dynamics in livestock systems. Dr. Makau is committed to advancing population health and sustainable livelihoods through rigorous research, interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Research Interests: Harnessing big data and machine learning for disease dynamics and management in human-livestock ecosystems; advancing sustainable livelihoods and population health through data-driven policies.
